BSc Artificial Intelligence
About this course
The BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence is an undergraduate degree within the Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) subject area focusing on the development and application of intelligent technological systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme is fully accredited and includes live brief assignments from organisations such as Mathworks, ARM and Citisoft. The first year covers the foundations through Introduction to Programming, Computer Systems, Computer Modelling and Simulation, Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Introduction to Mathematical Techniques for Artificial Intelligence, and Into ARU. The second year progresses to Database Design and Implementation, Software Engineering, Ruskin Module, Advanced Analytical Techniques for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks, and Algorithm Analysis and Data Structures. The final year includes the compulsory modules Final Project, AI Techniques (Fuzzy Logic and Genetic Algorithms), Professional Issues: Computing and Society, Deep Learning, Cloud Computing, and Image Processing, alongside optional modules such as Embedded Computing and Distributed Programming.
