Entry requirements

For all Modern Languages courses: Relevant modern language preferred. Our courses are designed to cater for those who have studied one or more languages as well as offering pathways for those beginning a language from scratch - there is no modern language language requirement for the beginner's language route. Offers are tariff based, 104-128 tariff points from Level 3 qualifications* e.g.: A Levels: English Literature / English Language / English preferred but not required. Relevant modern language preferred. General Studies and Key Skills not normally accepted. International Baccalaureate Diploma (including grade H5 in English Language / Literature and relevant modern language. No language required for language-beginners' pathway). BTEC National Extended Diploma: DMM - DDM Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma: DMM - DDM City & Guilds Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (1080): Case by case Access Welsh Baccalaureate is accepted T-levels: considered on a case-by-case basis

About this course

BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature and Hebrew and Jewish Studies. Core topics include research methods, fieldwork, historical research, and global and comparative perspective. The programme includes a compulsory year abroad, spent in a country where the studied language is spoken. Students may also pursue an additional year abroad through the International Experience option.
