About this course
BEng (Hons) in Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, a mechanical engineering and electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on systems engineering and cross-disciplinary technical skills. The first two years are shared with the Robotics Engineering degree, allowing students to transfer between these courses. The first year covers foundational principles through Design skills, Fundamentals of engineering and analysis, and Fundamentals of solid mechanics. The second year progresses with Core engineering concepts, Engineering practice and design, and Topics in mechanical engineering. The third year consists of a professional placement in industry. The final fourth year involves advanced study and practical work including a BEng individual project and Robotics and mechatronics major.
