About this course

BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, a mechanical engineering degree focused on the application of physical science, mathematics, and computing to complex engineering systems. The curriculum incorporates a mandatory professional placement year in the third stage. Practical work culminates in a semester-long, full-time individual project during the final year. The first year covers core foundations through Engineering mathematics, Mechatronics, and Thermofluids 1, alongside design and solid mechanics. The second year progresses with Control and mechatronics, Engineering computation, and Thermofluids 2. The final year involves advanced study via Heat transfer, Structural mechanics, and System simulation and control, supported by the BEng individual project.
