About this course
BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry, a biochemistry degree focused on the chemical processes and molecular mechanisms within living organisms. The curriculum incorporates a professional placement year in the third year of study. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules in Biochemistry, Cell biology, Genetics, Introduction to biological chemistry, and Practical research skills in biochemistry and biomedical sciences. The second year builds upon this knowledge with compulsory modules including Advanced skills for bioscience, Dynamic cell, Molecular biochemistry, and Protein structure and analysis. The third year consists of a mandatory professional placement. The final fourth year concludes with advanced studies through the compulsory module on Protein synthesis, folding, structure-function and turnover.
