About this course

BSc (Hons) in Health and Exercise Science, a sport and exercise science degree focusing on physiological, behavioural and policy factors affecting human wellbeing. Core topics include Statistics and Research Methods. Students undertake a professional placement year in the third year and complete an independent research project in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Functional anatomy and biomechanics, Human biochemistry, Human physiology, and The psychology of sport, exercise and health. The second year advances into specialized study with Physiology of health, exercise and nutrition, Population level public health, Psychology and health communication, and Sport and exercise medicine. The third year consists entirely of a compulsory Professional placement. The final year concludes the degree with a Research project and Tackling interdisciplinary challenges.
