About this course
BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Physics, a physics and mathematics degree exploring the application of mathematical methods to physical phenomena. Core topics include Mathematical Modelling. The four-year programme includes an integrated study abroad and professional placement year, alongside a final-year project. The first year establishes fundamental theory through Core pure and applied mathematics A, Core pure and applied mathematics B, Foundations of physics 1, and Mathematics and physics skills 1. The second year advances quantitative techniques with Advanced linear algebra, Differential equations and vector calculus, Foundations of physics 2, Partial differential equations, and Physics skills 2. The third year consists of Study abroad and Professional placement. The final year involves Self-directed learning.
