About this course
BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science, a mathematics and mathematics and statistics degree focused on quantitative methods and computational approaches. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students may transfer to related mathematics programmes at the end of the first year based on academic performance. The first year establishes fundamental mathematical and statistical methods through compulsory modules such as Core pure and applied mathematics A, Core pure and applied mathematics B, Statistics and data science 1A, and Statistics and data science 1B. The second year advances into specialized quantitative techniques via Differential equations and vector calculus, Introduction to data science, Machine learning 1, Statistics 2A, and Statistics 2B. The final year focuses on advanced computational applications through Applied data science, Deep learning, Statistical modelling and data analytics 3A, and Statistical modelling and data analytics 3B.
