About this course

BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology, a pharmacology degree focused on the scientific study of drug action, human health and therapeutic agents. The course begins with education in pharmacological principles from the first term and includes a final-year BSc data project. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Fundamentals of pharmacology: health and disease, Fundamentals of pharmacology: the chemistry of drugs, Fundamentals of pharmacology: the science of medicines, and Research and scientific skills for pharmacology. The second year progresses to advanced physiological systems and drug action via Cardiovascular, renal and PNS pharmacology, Central nervous system pharmacology, Drug discovery and pharmacokinetics, Immunity and immunotherapy, and Molecular Pharmacology. The final year concludes with Advanced topics and trends in pharmacology alongside the compulsory research project.
