About this course
BSc (Hons) in Physics with Astrophysics, a physics and physics with astrophysics degree focused on the laws of the physical universe and astronomical phenomena. Core topics include Data Analysis. Students undertake a final-year project involving research within the department. The first year covers core subjects through Dynamics and astrophysics, Foundations of physics 1, Mathematics for physics 1, and Physics skills 1. The second year progresses with Foundations of physics 2, Further physics: from neutrinos to black holes, Mathematics for physics 2, Physics skills 2, and Scientific computing and advanced data analysis. The final year focuses on advanced astrophysical theory through Galaxies and introduction to cosmology, General relativity, and Stars and stellar evolution.
