About this course
BSc (Hons) in Physics with Theoretical Physics, a physics degree exploring the deep connections between mathematics and physical theory. Students complete a substantial final-year project involving department research. The first year covers foundational concepts through Dynamics and astrophysics, Foundations of physics 1, and Mathematics for physics 1. The second year introduces deeper theoretical methods via Foundations of physics 2, Further physics: from neutrinos to black holes, and Techniques for theoretical physics. The final year focuses on advanced mathematical and quantum concepts, featuring compulsory modules such as Advanced classical mechanics, Advanced quantum mechanics, and Symmetry and topology.
