About this course
BSc (Hons) in Physics with Theoretical Physics, a physics degree exploring the mathematical foundations of physical phenomena. Students complete a third-year professional placement or study abroad period and undertake a substantial final-year project. The first year establishes fundamental concepts through Mathematics for physics 1, Foundations of physics 1, Dynamics and astrophysics, and Physics skills 1. The second year expands technical proficiency via Mathematics for physics 2, Foundations of physics 2, Techniques for theoretical physics, and Physics skills 2. The third year consists of a study abroad period and a professional placement. The final year focuses on advanced theoretical concepts through Advanced classical mechanics, Advanced quantum mechanics, and Symmetry and topology.
