About this course
MBiochem (Hons) in Biochemistry, a biochemistry degree focused on the chemical processes and molecular mechanisms of living systems. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a laboratory-based structure spanning four years of study. The first year covers foundational concepts through Biochemistry, Cell biology, Genetics, and Introduction to biological chemistry. The second year progresses to Molecular biochemistry, Protein structure and analysis, and Advanced skills for bioscience. The third year involves Advanced research techniques, Dissertation, and Protein synthesis, folding, structure-function and turnover. The fourth year concludes with an Advanced capstone project and Advances in biosciences.
