About this course
MBiochem (Hons) in Biochemistry, a biochemistry degree focused on applying chemical knowledge and techniques to biological processes. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a professional placement year and a final-year research project. The first year covers foundational concepts through Biochemistry, Cell biology, Genetics, and Introduction to biological chemistry. The second year progresses with Molecular biochemistry, Dynamic cell, Protein structure and analysis, and Advanced skills for bioscience. The third year consists of a professional placement. The fourth year involves Advanced research techniques, Dissertation, and Protein synthesis, folding, structure-function and turnover. The final year concludes with an advanced capstone project and further study in advances in biosciences.
