A level: AAB including A in Biology and A in a second science or mathematics subject. IB: 36 points overall and 6, 6, 5 in three Higher Level subjects including 6 in Biology and 6 in a second science or mathematics subject.
About this course
MBiol (Hons) in Biology, a biology degree focusing on the study of life from molecules to ecosystems. Core topics include Research Methods. This five-year programme includes a compulsory professional placement year and culminates in an advanced capstone project. The first year covers Biodiversity, Cell biology, Core skills for bioscience, Genetics, Practical research skills in biology, and Principles of ecology and evolution. The second year builds on this with Advanced skills for bioscience, Evolution and phylogeny, and Genomics and genetics. The third year consists of a professional placement. The fourth year involves Advanced research techniques and a dissertation. The final year concludes with Advanced capstone project and Advances in biosciences.
