About this course
MComp (Hons) in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, a computer science and computer science (artificial intelligence) degree focused on intelligent systems and computational methods. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Research Methods, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course includes a professional placement or study abroad period, alongside major individual and research projects. The first year covers core fundamentals through Programming 1, Programming 2, Computer systems architectures, and Artificial intelligence 1. The second year advances into algorithms and machine learning via Algorithms and complexity, Artificial intelligence 2, Machine learning, and Software engineering. The third year centres on an Individual project. The fourth year consists of a Professional placement and Study abroad. The final fifth year concludes with a substantial Research project.
