About this course

MComp (Hons) in Computer Science and Mathematics, a mathematics and computer science degree bridging computational systems and advanced mathematical theory. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme spans four years and includes substantial independent research through an individual project in the third year and a research project in the final year. The first year establishes foundations through Artificial intelligence 1, Core pure and statistical mathematics A, Core pure and statistical mathematics B, Programming 1, and Programming 2. The second year advances study with Advanced linear algebra, Algorithms and complexity, Groups and rings, Machine learning, Software engineering, Statistics 2A, and Statistics 2B. Year three centres on an individual project. The fourth and final year concludes with a research project.
