About this course
MComp (Hons) in Computer Science and Mathematics, a mathematics and computer science degree bridging computational systems and mathematical theory. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The five-year structure incorporates an individual project, a professional placement, a study abroad period, and a final research project. The first year covers foundational concepts through Programming 1, Programming 2, and Core pure and statistical mathematics A. The second year introduces Advanced linear algebra, Algorithms and complexity, Groups and rings, Machine learning, Software engineering, Statistics 2A, and Statistics 2B. The third year centres on an individual project. The fourth year involves a professional placement and study abroad. The fifth and final year concludes with a research project.
