About this course
MEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, a chemical engineering degree centred on technical and professional training for industrial careers. Core topics include Research Methods and Project Management. The course includes a compulsory professional placement year and concludes with an independent research project. The first year introduces foundational material through Chemical engineering skills, practice and design 1, Principles of chemical engineering 1, Professional portfolio 1, and Science and mathematics for chemical engineering. The second year continues with Chemical engineering skills, practice and design 2, Principles of chemical engineering 2, Process dynamics, modelling and control, and Professional portfolio 2. The third year focuses on design and management through Advanced principles of chemical engineering, Environmental and engineering project management, Product and process design (group), and Advanced product and process design (individual). The fourth year consists of a Professional placement. The fifth year comprises Advanced core chemical engineering and the MEng research project in chemical engineering.
