About this course
MEng (Hons) in Integrated Design Engineering, a mechanical engineering degree focused on multidisciplinary product development. Students complete a professional placement year and undertake a major individual design project. The first year covers core fundamentals through modules such as Engineering mathematics, Mechatronics, and Thermofluids. The second year advances technical ability with modules including Control and mechatronics, Engineering computation, and Solid mechanics 2. The third year consists entirely of a Professional placement. The fourth year shifts towards applied product creation through modules like Group design and business project, Human centred design, and Reverse engineering. The final fifth year concludes with advanced independent work through the Design optimisation project and Major individual design project 1.
