About this course
MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, a mechanical engineering degree focused on engineering systems. Core topics include Research Methods. Practical project work forms a central part of the curriculum, culminating in group and individual projects. The first year covers foundational principles through Design, materials and manufacturing 1, Engineering mathematics, Mechatronics, and Thermofluids 1. The second year builds upon this with Control and mechatronics, Design, materials and manufacturing 2, Engineering computation, and Solid mechanics 2. The third year introduces advanced studies featuring Group and business project, Heat transfer, Structural mechanics, and System simulation and control. The final year centres on independent research and application through the MEng individual project and Project scoping and research methods.
