About this course
MEng (Hons) in Mechanical with Automotive Engineering, a mechanical engineering and robotics engineering degree focused on vehicle design, performance, and systems. Core topics include Research Methods. The five-year degree includes a professional placement year and concludes with an individual project. The first year covers foundational concepts through Design, materials and manufacturing 1, Engineering mathematics, and Thermofluids 1. The second year progresses with Control and mechatronics, Engineering computation, and Solid mechanics 2. The third year consists entirely of the Professional placement. The fourth year shifts towards automotive applications with Future vehicle and chassis architectures, Vehicle dynamics, and Sustainable thermal and electric propulsion alongside a Group design and business project. The final fifth year involves advanced study via Digital engineering of automotive systems and Project scoping and research methods, supported by the MEng individual project.
