About this course
MEng (Hons) in Robotics Engineering, a robotics engineering degree focusing on the design and application of automated systems. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a professional placement year and fulfils the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer status, with the first two years shared with related engineering programmes. The first year covers core mechanical and analytical foundations through Design skills, Fundamentals of engineering and analysis, Fundamentals of solid mechanics, and Fundamentals of thermofluids. The second year expands upon these principles via Core engineering concepts, Engineering practice and design, and Topics in mechanical engineering. The third year consists of a Professional placement. The fourth year advances into major system applications through Computer engineering major, Group design and business project, and Robotics and mechatronics major. The final year culminates in advanced study and practical implementation through Applied robotics, Human-machine interaction, MEng individual project, and Project scoping and research methods.
