About this course
MPhys (Hons) in Physics, a physics degree centred on fundamental principles from subatomic to cosmological scales. Core topics include Research Methods. Students complete a final year research project. The first year covers core foundations through Dynamics and astrophysics, Foundations of physics 1, Mathematics for physics 1, and Physics skills 1. The second year progresses with Foundations of physics 2, Further physics: from neutrinos to black holes, Mathematics for physics 2, and Physics skills 2. The third year advances into Advanced classical mechanics, Advanced quantum mechanics, and MPhys / MSci project preparation. The final year centres on the MPhys/MSci research project.
