About this course

MPhys (Hons) in Physics, a physics degree centred on fundamental principles across various scales. Core topics include Research Methods. This five-year programme includes a professional placement and study abroad period. The first year covers core areas through Dynamics and astrophysics, Foundations of physics 1, and Mathematics for physics 1. The second year continues with Foundations of physics 2, Further physics: from neutrinos to black holes, and Mathematics for physics 2. The third year incorporates a Professional placement and Study abroad. The fourth year focuses on advanced theory through Advanced classical mechanics, Advanced quantum mechanics, and MPhys / MSci project preparation. The final year concludes with an MPhys/MSci research project and an MPhys research placement.
