This course does not require evidence of GCSE qualifications. Please see A Level, BTEC and other level 3 requirements below. A Level / AS Level: A Level: 112 UCAS Tariff points / BBC (or equivalent) AS Level: Must be in a different subject to A Levels A maximum of four subjects will be considered Required subjects: English Language or Literature A Level at Grade C or above. In lieu of English Language or Literature A Level, subjects that include an element of essay writing will be considered as an alternative, i.e History, Religious Education, The Sciences, Philosophy, Film Studies, Communication Studies & Creative Writing all include a component of this. Applicants will be required to submit a satisfactory essay set by the department. Pearson BTEC (Diploma / Extended Diploma/ Extended Certificate): 112 UCAS Tariff points Diploma accepted with one A Level or equivalent level 3 qualifications Extended Certificate accepted with two A Levels or equivalent level 3 qualifications Applicants will be asked to complete an essay set by the department unless they are already holding or are working towards an A Level in English at grade C or above. T Level: Merit overall Applicants will be asked to complete an essay set by the department unless they are already holding or are working towards an A Level in English at grade C or above. Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 60 credits, 45 credits at level 3. Accepted subjects: Language, Literature and Culture subjects preferred but other subjects also considered. Applicants may be asked to complete an essay set by the department if subject doesn't contain any English. About this course
BA (Hons) in English and Creative Writing, combining creative practice with the study of literature and language. Core topics include research methods, communication and writing, and critical and analytical thinking. The course culminates in a Major Project dissertation and includes a Collaborative Practice module for group projects with students from complementary disciplines.
