Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Prior to enrolling on the course, successful candidates will be required to obtain a satisfactory occupational health check and an enhanced DBS check via the School, as well as registration with the Independent Safeguarding Authority. Qualifications, personal statement, interview and references all form part of the selection criteria for this course. In addition to the A Level, BTEC and other level 3 requirements below, applicants for this course also need GCSE English Language or English Literature and GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above. If you do not have these or are not undertaking them, we accept other level 2 equivalents, or we may ask you to pass BCU's GCSE equivalency tests. A Level: 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A Levels Grades BBB (or equivalent) Required subjects: One of Health and Social Care, Human Biology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Social Science or Applied Science at A Level or level 3 equivalent. Other subjects may be considered at the discretion of the Admissions tutor. About this course
BSc (Hons) in Social Work. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Ethics & Professional Practice. The programme includes two practice placements in the second and third years, with a 100-day placement in the final year. Successful completion enables registration with Social Work England and the protected title of Social Worker.
