About this course

Master in Science in Biochemistry MSci, a biochemistry degree focused on molecular and cellular biological principles. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. This four-year undergraduate course includes an extended research project in the final year. The first year establishes fundamental scientific knowledge through Cell Biology & Physiology, Chemistry for Biochemists I, Genetics I, and Molecular Biosciences and Microbiology. The second year progresses into specialised studies with Chemistry for Biochemists - II, Genetic Engineering and Data Science, Membranes, Energy and Metabolism, and Cell and Developmental Biology. The third year offers advanced study in topics such as Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cellular Immunology, and Omics for Biomedical Research alongside experimental design. The final master's year centers on an Extended Research Project, Funding Science, and advanced options including Functional Genomics and Reverse Genetics.
