About this course

Master in Science in Biochemistry with Professional Placement MSci, a biochemistry degree focused on molecular and cellular biological systems. Core topics include Data Analysis and Research Methods. The course includes a professional placement year spent in industry training. The first year covers foundational concepts through LC Cell Biology & Physiology, LC Genetics I, and LC Molecular Biosciences and Microbiology. The second year introduces LI Genetic Engineering and Data Science, LI Membranes, Energy and Metabolism, and LI Cell and Developmental Biology. The third year consists of a work-based placement involving a literature review and project design alongside a research project. The final year involves advanced study and specialisation through options such as LM Cancer Biology, LM Cellular Neurobiology, and LM Molecular and Cellular Immunology, concluding with a major research project.
