About this course

Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences BSc, a biomedical sciences degree centred on the human body and the biological mechanisms of disease. Core topics include Research Methods and Entrepreneurship. Students complete an independent Research Project in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Discover: Practical, Academic and Research Skills, Fundamental Molecular Cell Biology, Physiology of Body Systems, and Threats and Defence. The second year builds on this with modules such as Cancer Biology and Treatment, Infection and Immunology, and Neurobiology of Disease. The final year involves core study in Experimental Design and Data Interpretation, alongside Global Challenge. Optional modules allow specialisation in subjects including Cancer Pathogenesis and Treatment, Experimental Immunology, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Biomedical Entrepreneurship.
