About this course

Master in Science in Biomedical Sciences MSci, a biomedical sciences degree focused on the scientific mechanisms underpinning human health and disease. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, and Entrepreneurship. Students complete a substantial independent research project in the final year. The first year covers core foundations through modules such as Discover: Practical, Academic and Research Skills, Fundamental Molecular Cell Biology, and Physiology of Body Systems. The second year progresses to specialised areas through Cancer Biology and Treatment, Infection and Immunology, and Neurobiology of Disease. The third year introduces advanced study via Translational Medicine alongside options covering topics like Cancer Pathogenesis and Treatment, Experimental Immunology, and Biomedical Entrepreneurship. The final year centres on the Research Project, accompanied by optional choices such as Clinical Haematology, Genome damage and stability in human disease, and Tumour Virology.
