A Level: AAB including two from Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Statistics - at least one of which must be Chemistry or Biology/Human Biology. IB: 6,6,5 including two from Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Statistics - at least one of which must be Chemistry or Biology/Human Biology. About this course
Master in Science in Biotechnology with Placement Year MSci, a biosciences degree focused on modern techniques in biotechnology. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods. The course includes a professional placement year completed between the third and final stages. The first year covers foundational concepts through Cell Biology & Physiology, Genetics I, and Molecular Biosciences and Microbiology. The second year introduces specialized study via modules such as Genetic Engineering and Data Science, Proteins in Biotechnology, and Microbiology: Medicine, Environment, and Industry. The third year consists of work-based research and project design. The final year allows students to select from advanced topics such as Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cellular Immunology, and Omics for Biomedical Research, alongside an extended research project.
