About this course
Bachelor of Science in Midwifery BSc, a midwifery degree centred on clinical practice and maternal health. The first year focuses on foundational theory and practice through Anatomy and physiology for midwives, Introducing professional midwifery practice, Introducing universal Midwifery Care, and Safe and effective midwifery care 1. Year two builds on this with modules such as Care of the newborn infant, Exploring additional health needs, Safe and effective midwifery care 2, and The Midwife as an Advocate. The final year centres on advanced clinical management through Leading and managing a midwifery caseload, Leading and managing midwifery care in complex cases, Promoting excellence in midwifery practice, and Specialist Midwifery.
