About this course
Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with International and Industrial Study, a chemical engineering degree focusing on industrial processes and sustainable engineering solutions. Core topics include Systems Design, Data Analysis, and Research Methods. The five-year course incorporates an integrated year working in industry and an extended period studying abroad at an overseas university. The first year covers foundational principles through modules such as Reaction, Equilibria and Thermodynamics, Chemistry and Materials, Introduction to Transport Phenomena, and Process Design and Analysis. The second year expands into applied areas with Sustainable Process Engineering, Mass, Heat and Momentum Transport, Product Design Exercise, and Systems Design and Control. The third year is spent on a Chemical Engineering Industrial Study placement, followed by the fourth year dedicated to a Chemical Engineering Year Abroad. The final year involves core advanced studies like Advanced Transport Processes, Advanced Reactors and Thermodynamics, and a significant Design Project and Research Project. Students can also tailor their studies through optional choices spanning Advanced Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Energy Data Analytics and Modelling, Industry 4.0 and Big Data, and Thermal Energy.
