About this course

Master in Science in Chemistry with a Year in Industry, a chemistry degree exploring the breadth and depth of the central science. Core topics include Research Methods. This four-year course includes a dedicated industrial placement year spent working on an industrial project. The first year covers foundational concepts through Discover: Themes in Chemistry, General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry I, Organic Chemistry I, Physical Chemistry I, and Practical Chemistry I. The second year builds on this foundation with Inorganic Chemistry II, Organic Chemistry II, Physical Chemistry II, Practical Chemistry II, and Structural Analysis, alongside chemistry options. The third year involves an industrial project alongside intensive practical chemistry and distance learning modules. The final fourth year advances academic study through Advanced Chemical Topics I and Advanced Chemical Topics II, culminating in the 4P1 Masters Research Project.
