About this course
Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering MEng, a civil engineering degree focused on technical infrastructure and structural systems. Core topics include Engineering Design and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students complete an individual engineering project in the final year. The first year covers fundamentals through Engineering Mathematics 1, Fluid Mechanics and Energy Transfer, Mechanics 1, and Introduction to Computing for Engineers. The second year introduces core topics such as Mechanics of Structures, Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, and Civil Engineering Materials. The third year advances into areas including Structural Analysis and Design, Water Engineering and Design, Transport Systems Engineering and Design, and Geotechnical Analysis and Design. The fourth year offers advanced study through options like Advanced Structural Design, Advanced Geotechnical Analysis, Climate Resilient Infrastructure and GIS, and Tunnelling, alongside an individual engineering project.
