About this course
Master in Science in Geology with International Year MSci, an earth and environmental sciences degree focused on the study of the Earth's history, materials, and systems. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, and Project Management. The curriculum incorporates a dedicated year abroad alongside practical fieldwork and laboratory investigations. The first year introduces fundamental concepts through modules such as Building the Earth: from Minerals to Mountains, Earth History and Life, and Earth Science Field and Research Skills. The second year advances core knowledge with modules including Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Sedimentology, and Structural Geology and Geophysics. The third year involves studying abroad across multiple international modules alongside an independent Earth Sciences Research Project.
