About this course
Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Development, an international development with economics and politics and international relations degree addressing global political systems and developmental challenges. Core topics include Research Methods. The curriculum spans three years of study, culminating in a final-year dissertation project. The first year introduces foundational themes through Global Development Challenges I, Global Development Challenges II, Global History, and Introduction to International Development. The second year examines theoretical frameworks and practical contexts via Understanding development assistance, Working in Development, Global Governance, and International Relations Theory. The final year allows advanced specialisation across various regional and thematic options, alongside compulsory independent research for the Dissertation. Students select from numerous optional modules covering areas such as environmental politics, security, global capitalism, and specific regional politics.
