About this course
Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering, an engineering degree exploring the properties, processing, and application of materials. Core topics include Data Analysis and Research Methods. The course includes a final-year research project. Year one establishes engineering principles through modules such as Mathematics and Computing for Engineers, Mechanics and Structures, Electrical and Magnetic Engineering, and Thermodynamics, Kinetics and Fluids. Year two builds on this foundation with studies in Physical Materials Science, Modelling Materials Behaviour, Fracture, Fatigue and Degradation, and Materials Characterisation and Data Analysis. The final year involves advanced specialisation through option choices spanning high performance materials, biomaterials, battery technology, and surface engineering technologies, alongside the Materials Research Project.
