About this course

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science with Industrial Year, a mathematics and computer science degree bridging computational systems and advanced mathematical theory. Core topics include Programming, Computer Architecture, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students complete a professional industrial placement year during the course and undertake independent project work in the final year. The first year covers foundational principles through modules such as Computer Systems and Professional Practice, Data Structure & Algorithms, Mathematical Foundations, Calculus and Linear Algebra, Object Oriented Programming (Mathematics), and Probability, Data and Statistics. The second year extends these methods with topics in Artificial Intelligence, Functional Programming, Software Engineering, Applied Linear Algebra and Optimisation, and Multivariable and Vector Calculus. In the fourth year, students select from a broad range of optional modules spanning advanced computing and mathematical theory, alongside completing a Computer Science Project and a Mathematical Project.
