About this course
Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive), a mechanical engineering degree focused on automotive applications. Core topics include Control Systems, Engineering Design, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This four-year programme supports progression towards Chartered Engineer status. The first year covers the foundations through Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Engineering Materials, and Engineering Mathematics 1. The second year introduces Mechatronics and Control Engineering, Mechanical Design A, and Thermodynamics and Fluids. The third year builds expertise with CFD and FEA (Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis), Powertrain and Vehicle Engineering, and Integrated Design Project 3 (MEng). The final year includes advanced study in Advanced Vehicle Engineering, Advanced Fuels and Powertrain Systems, and an Individual Engineering Project (MEng), alongside options such as Artificial Intelligence for Engineers and Biomedical Engineering.
