About this course
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with Industrial Year, a mechanical engineering degree focused on engineering principles and industrial practice. Core topics include Control Systems and Engineering Design. The four-year programme includes a dedicated industrial placement year between the penultimate and final years. The first year covers foundational principles through Engineering Mathematics 1, Fluid Mechanics and Energy Transfer, Mechanics 1, and Engineering Materials. The second year builds competence with Engineering Mathematics 2, Mechanical Design A, Mechatronics and Control Engineering, and Thermodynamics and Fluids. The third year consists of an industrial placement. The final year involves advanced study and practical application through modules such as CFD and FEA, Powertrain and Vehicle Engineering, and Sustainable Energy and the Environment, alongside an Individual Engineering Project and Integrated Design Project 3.
