About this course

Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with Study in Continental Europe, a biology and microbiology degree centred on the scientific study of microscopic life, cellular processes, and environmental interactions. Core topics include Data Analysis, Fieldwork, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. The programme includes a dedicated third year spent studying abroad at a European partner institution. The first year covers foundational concepts through LC Cell Biology & Physiology, LC Ecological Concepts and Plant Sciences, and LC Molecular Biosciences and Microbiology. The second year builds competence with modules such as Genetic Engineering and Data Science, Microbiology: Medicine, Environment, and Industry, and Cell and Developmental Biology. Students select optional topics and practical modules in the final year, including Microbial Pathogenicity and Disease, Arctic Microbiology, and a Practical Project.
