About this course
Master in Science in Palaeontology and Geology with an International Year MSci, an earth and environmental sciences degree focused on the study of fossils, rocks, and environmental systems. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, and Project Management. Students spend an academic year studying abroad at an international institution, alongside completing an independent research project in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through modules such as Earth History and Life, Introduction to Evolution and Animal Biology, and Earth Science Field and Research Skills. The second year expands into more specialized areas via modules including Palaeoecology, Sedimentology, and Geological Natural Hazards. The third year involves studying abroad across multiple modules such as Year Abroad Module 1, Year Abroad Module 2, and Year Abroad Module 3. Finally, the course concludes with the Earth Sciences Research Project in the fourth year.
