About this course
Master in Science in Physics with Medical Physics, a physics degree focused on the intersection of physical theory and medical applications. Core topics include Statistics and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme spans four years and includes independent project work in both the third and final years. The first year establishes fundamental concepts through Mathematics for Physicists 1, Classical Mechanics and Relativity, Physics Laboratory 1, and Discover: Skills, Computing and Medical Physics. The second year builds upon this base with Mathematics for Physicists 2, Modern Physics, Medical Physics Laboratory, and Challenge: Skills, Computing and Medical Physics. The third year incorporates specialised study in Medical Physics, a Year 3 Physics Project, Machine Learning and Inference from Data, and Particle Physics. The fourth year concludes the degree with a Year 4 Physics Project alongside advanced options such as Quantum Systems and Technologies, Applied Optics, and Physics of Climate and Renewable Energy.
