About this course

Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Philosophy, a politics and international relations and philosophy degree examining the interplay between political systems and philosophical thought. Core topics include Research Methods, Global & Comparative Perspective. Students complete a dissertation or a philosophical project in the final year. The first year introduces foundational ideas through modules such as Pathways to Political Research I, Problems of Philosophy A, Introduction to Political Theory and Moral and Political Philosophy. The second year expands into broader theoretical and applied concepts with modules including History of Political Ideas: power, revolution and the state, Research Design, International Relations Theory and Logic. In the final year, students choose from advanced optional modules spanning international politics, security, contemporary political theory, and specialized philosophical topics like Nietzsche, Social Justice and Topics in Philosophy of Religion.
