Entry requirements
A level: AAA including Mathematics or A*AB including A in Mathematics IB: 36 points overall with 18 at Higher Level, including 6 at Higher Level in Mathematics (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations) BTEC: DDD in either Engineering BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent), or any Applied General BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent). Applicants taking Engineering BTEC may be invited to take the University of Bristol mathematics test in place of A-level Mathematics. Find out more about BTEC entry requirements
About this course
BEng in Engineering Mathematics, a mathematics degree focused on mathematical and data modelling, computing, and general engineering applications. The final year involves choosing specialist options from engineering, mathematics, data science, mathematical biology, and artificial intelligence, alongside collaborative group modelling projects addressing current industrial and external problems. Students benefit from instruction by active researchers and have opportunities to engage with real-world applications spanning robotics, social media, medicine, and environmental modelling. The course includes prior accreditation by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, with a scheduled re-accreditation review expected by 2026.
