Entry requirements
A level: A*A*A including A* in Mathematics, or A*AA including A*A (in any order) in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. STEP paper achievement may be included as part of an alternative offer. IB: 40 points overall with 18 at Higher Level, including 7 at Higher Level in Mathematics (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations). BTEC: D*D*D in either Engineering BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent), or any Applied General BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent). Applicants taking Engineering BTEC may be invited to an additional mathematics assessment in place of A-level Mathematics. Find out more about BTEC entry requirements
About this course
BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy, a mathematics and philosophy degree linked by the formal study of logic. The two subjects complement each other, allowing students to develop mathematical maturity alongside rigorous analysis and argument. In the final year, students complete an independent extended essay project on a philosophical topic under staff supervision.
