Entry requirements
A level: A*A*A including A* in Mathematics, or A*AA including A*A (in any order) in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. STEP paper achievement may be included as part of an alternative offer. IB: 40 points overall with 18 at Higher Level, including 7 at Higher Level in Mathematics (either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations). BTEC: D*D*D in either Engineering BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent), or any Applied General BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent). Applicants taking Engineering BTEC may be invited to an additional mathematics assessment in place of A-level Mathematics. Find out more about BTEC entry requirements
About this course
MSci in Mathematics and Philosophy, an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Philosophy spanning four years. The curriculum is connected by the formal study of logic, uniting mathematical maturity with the analytical reasoning of the philosophical tradition. Students complete an independent extended essay project on a philosophical topic under staff supervision and take specialist units in the final year alongside postgraduate students.
