About this course
MSci in Physics and Philosophy, a physics and philosophy degree combining physical sciences with foundational and ethical inquiry. The course is accredited by IOP. In the final year, students undertake a major project within Physics working within a research group alongside an independent study project within Philosophy. Students study physics and mathematics alongside philosophical topics such as metaphysics, ethics, and the theory of knowledge in the first year. Subsequent years explore the overlap between physics and philosophy in greater depth, including the philosophy of science and the foundations and philosophy of physics. Optional units enable students to pursue further philosophical interests.
